The Negril Hills Golf Club can
be found a few miles away from Negril up in the hills on the road to
Savanna-la-mar. This scenic and hilly par 72 course was the vision of one of Savanna-la-mar's and Westmoreland's leading businessmen ... Owen "Hurry Hurry" Sinclair.
It is one of Jamaica's newer golf courses. It is now the only golf course In Westmoreland.
Although only 6,333 yards from the Blue tees (5798 from the Whites, and 4986 from the Reds) it is a challenging layout, with several elevated tees, blind greens, sharp doglegs, and steep fairways.
The initial design and layout was done by Roy Case before he migrated to Florida and opened his desgn company up there, but the credit for the desgn has gone to Robert Simmons in 1994,
Caddies and carts are available, and there is a pro shop, a tennis court and a restaurant from which you get some lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the mountains.
If you are visiting Negril, or Jamaica's south western coast, and you are a golfer, it is certainly worth bringing your clubs along and having a game at Negril Hills.
